Loyal Stalkers may tell you that it has 15 short stories, but in fact, it is a novel. As you skip from one story to another you notice how smoothly one story weaves into the next making it seem so real. Each story deals with characters with grey areas and I think that is the reason why each character hits home. Sri Lanka becomes a familiar place.
An unwed young woman gives birth in hiding, a mafia don lives a double life as a saviour, a trainer at a gym who barely speaks stalks his client, a dead dog, a father who lies to his son about his job, a rich man who is gay and hates himself for it and wants to kill his partner, a young football player abused by his coach….
Each of the above situations develop into an individual story and then become a whole, revealing bits and pieces like a jigsaw puzzle, consuming the reader.
