I see a clear blue sky every morning,
Wispy clouds float by as the sun rises high
Somehow, the air feels lighter
And the birds pleasantly noisier.
At night I look up and see
Stars like fireflies shining down on me
The sky is an inky blue studded with planets.
I wonder, how long this beauty shall last?
How long before the marauding millions
Break through the self-imposed isolation
And tear apart what has bloomed in a short span?
Whatever we do,
One thing is crystal clear
We know how puny, how small,
How inconsequential at all
We are, in the face of nature.
As long as we realize
The earth needs to breathe too
Just like we do.
